Take that bet to your local bookie, they'll give you good odds.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostYou said Adebayor's ****, not me! Although now you've mentioned it I think he is ****. I said that Ngog is a better player, and I stand by that. I bet you anything you like that Ngog's minutes to goals ratio next season is better than Adebayor's.
You'll lose, mind

Not all their signings will be a success so you'd expect a few to leave next season. I wouldnt be surprised if a couple moved on before the start of this season either.
Forwards: Santa Cruz, Tevez, Robinho, Bellamy, Caicedo, Evans, Adebayor?, Benjani, Bojinov
Midfielders: De Jong, Barry, Ireland, Wright-Phillips, Petrov, Johnson, Kompany, Elano
Actually listing the players they havent got as many players as i thought. Say Evans and Benjani went that would leave 14 players (15 incl Adebayor) competing for 6 positions essentially.
I think they'll line up something like this:
--------------Santa Cruz/Adebayor-------------
Robinho---------------------------------------- Tevez
--------------Barry---------Ireland-
--------------------De Jong----------------------'Religion is killing each other over who has the best imaginary friend'

To be fair Bojinov never plays. I'd expect Evens to go on loan again and Benjani and Caicedo are crap so will probably be sold. You can easily make a front three out of Robinho, Tevez, Santa Cruz and Bellamy for each match. Looked at like that the numbers stop looking like such a problem."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I agree with Craig there. Man. City will fare with the Evertons and the Villas this season, they haven't got enough to challenge the big 4.

Doesn't matter if you have world class players in your team or not, as long as you have a very good team.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostThey've got quite literally zero world class players IMO, for all the money spent.
Our major problem in the past has been the fact that we have had the odd world class player but not enough 8 out of 10's if you know what i mean.
City are buying a lot of excellent players (not necassarily world class), and are improving their team on a weekly basis.
Hughes has been very clever in recruiting proven premiership performers.
They will be a major force this season. Definate top 5 finish, with a outside chance at the title.

Not a chance mate, they're never going to win the title next season, even if they buy Snoop Doggie.Originally posted by magicalbarnes View PostDoesn't matter if you have world class players in your team or not, as long as you have a very good team.

I'm not so sure if any of the top four have a season like Arsenal did last year then I think City might have a chance. They will have more top end players than the likes of Villa and Everton had and if they scent a chance they might kick on. On the other hand I think there is an equal chance that unless they get someone in to organise the defense they will struggle to get past Villa and Everton (assuming the former replace Barry well).Originally posted by Rich View PostAgreed, they wont make the leap into the top 4 this year, but give them a couple more years and they'll be there or thereabouts. I Just dont see them being able to kick onto top 4 this season, i mean Arsenal still got 70+ points, 20 more than man city and still lost only 9times.Originally posted by dww View PostI'm not so sure if any of the top four have a season like Arsenal did last year then I think City might have a chance. I think at best they can hope for is battling with Everton for 5th and i still think that would be real progress. There are 2 many ifs and buts with City at the moment and also bear in mind the pressure on each player to perform knowing that they could easily get replaced each transfer window.....could bring out the best in some, the worse in others._____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?

Thats true but I think the other teams (Villa and Everton) dropped off and if they get into a suitable position unlike those two City will be able to bring in reinforcements in January.Originally posted by red g View PostI Just dont see them being able to kick onto top 4 this season, i mean Arsenal still got 70+ points, 20 more than man city and still lost only 9times.

City had form to challenge at home but now away I think they have players who could do better (Dunne, Richards etc.) and a lot of added players and could well make up a big number of points on the top 4. If asked to bet then I'd say they would be top 6 but not necessarily better than that. However I think they have a slim chance and shouldn't be written off."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

With the squad they are building it would be very naive to write off Citeh's chances of finishing in a CL spot next season. IMO they will have a better team than Villa and Everton, both of whom have been close to 4th spot in recent seasons."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball."
