Watching Kop Talkin' and they were saying that Hammill has been outstanding in the Championship this year. Says City and Everton are interested, but we have a buy-back clause in his contract for $0.5m. Anyone seen much of him?

I always liked the look of him when I've seen him play, and would have been happy for us to keep him. He certainly couldn't have did much worse that our current wingers have done so far. Home grown also.

Feel a bit ridiculous for saying it to be honest but I'd take a punt on him for £500k. Not as if we can afford to shop at Waitrose is it. He's got that unpredictability about him that our squad lacks so badly.

He'd probably knock us back, just like everyone else seemed to on the last day of the window.

As far as I know it's not a buy-back clause? Rather a clause in his contract allowing him to go to a Premier League club (in January) for £500,000?

He's doing very well at Barnsley. He definitely is or is close to being good enough to be playing in the premiership. I always said he'd make it. He has a clause in his contract that allows him to move for £500k if a premiership team comes in for him. I don't we have a buyback clause but I'm sure if we did move for him, he wouldn't turn us down. Either way, he will very likely be moving to a Premiership team in January. Doubt it will be us though. He's miles better than any of the young wingers/playmakers (Pacheco, Amoo et al) we have although he is slightly older than them
