Why would he want to go back to square one, and why would we want to spend money on a player who is no better than what we already have?

His shooting from distance is Gerrard like. I'm not saying he is like Gerrard or anywhere near as good a player.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostJust to clarify that I have read that correctly you are saying Adam Hammill is almost Gerrard like.....................

Wow there is a lot of absolute ****e written on forums but you sir with that post take the award of the most ridiculous collection of words ever typed one after another on an internet communication medium
If you have any doubts, youtube some of the goals he has scored this season for Barnsley. The only ****e ****e at this moment is coming from you.He also has a lethal shot - almost Gerrard like
Have a browse of this clip and eat **** while you're at it

Well one good reason is we spent nearly £6m on Brad Jones and Paul Konchesky to bolster our home-grown quota. £350k is **** all and would have been worth a punt.Originally posted by smu1977 View PostWhy would he want to go back to square one, and why would we want to spend money on a player who is no better than what we already have?
In saying that, as someone mentioned earlier if it was at the expense of Suso or Pacheco, then I’d rather go with what we’ve got. Just think it would have been worth considering seeing as Maxi and Kuyt are getting on a bit.
It also would have made financial sense. We could have sold Jova and saved on wages and even if Hammill didn't work out, we could sell on at a profit. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yes but those 2 were signed by an idiot, no point in signing a player who really is not good enough for the sake of or just because he is local.Originally posted by RedReet View PostWell one good reason is we spent nearly £6m on Brad Jones and Paul Konchesky to bolster our home-grown quota. £350k is **** all and would have been worth a punt.

But even still, do we really want to be in the market to top home-grown talent? Darrent Bent FFS? Then there’s the likes of Milner, Barry etc. Personally I’d prefer if we met our quota with home-grown players and decent cheap players who can do a job, and look for value abroad.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostYes but those 2 were signed by an idiot, no point in signing a player who really is not good enough for the sake of or just because he is local. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

What is to say he can do a job? We already let him leave once, odds are he'd be a waste of squad position for us.Originally posted by RedReet View PostBut even still, do we really want to be in the market to top home-grown talent? I can see the likeness Lee you laaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggg, but no, no I don't.

If anything my natural boyish good looks and cheeky charm have much more in common with McCauley Culkin's character in said Christmas movie
