    PL Relegation Battle

So who do you think will go down?

A lot of the clubs who stayed up last year haven't really strengthen or look to have weakened like Hull and Wigan. Stoke could easily be one season wonders and they weren't even that great last season. Mick McCarthy has a pretty poor record in the PL and the make up of the Wolves squad is worrying similar to that he bought up for Sunderland with a lot of inexperienced players. Brum looked pretty average even in the Championship when I saw them. Burnley you would think are dead certs to go back I suppose.

I fancy Hull, Burnley and Wolves

I'll be long cold and in the ground by then.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Think it'll be between Burnley, Hull, Portsmouth, Wigan and Wolves. Bottom five right there.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

                Probably true.

not sure why birmingham havent been included in that 5, think they have a way better chance of struggling than Wigan

I'd include Birmingham and make that the bottom 6. I think Wigan will have a bad season, they've lost an awful lot of their best players in the last year (Palacios, Valencia, Heskey, Zaki etc) they had a poor end to last season and the players they are signing are mostly unproven in at Premiership level.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

This coming season's PL lineup will be one of the weakest in ages.

Teams like Hull, Stoke, Pompey and Blackburn are all woeful, and then you add Wolves, Birmingham and Burnley to the mix. 7 utter piles of ****e IMO.

Title contenders have to be looking at getting in the region of 35 points from that lot. If not more.

These are the kind of teams where Rafa is likely to rest key players. (I really, really don’t want to start a debate about the merits of Lucas and Babel – I actually think they are good squad players but). If Gerrard and Torres are rested for Lucas and Babel against Stoke, for example, I wouldn’t be surprised if we drew (at home) or lost (away). If, however, Lucas and Babel played in the same side as Gerrard and Torres, I’d expect us to win.

I know Gerrard and Torres are two of the very best players in the world (and possibly the two best players in the Premiership) but I do feel that there is too much of a gap between our key players and the next best. In other words, our squad will struggle against some of the ****ter teams in the Prem. Gerrard and Torres cannot play every game.

To answer the main question - Wolves, Hull and Burnley.
                        Another MASSIVE game

If Rafa hasnt learnt his lesson with regards to resting players, then we've no hope.

Pompey will not go down next season.

Anyone who has posted that they will, fancy a wager??

                              I find this thread depressing.
