What's he like ?, he tries to be this tough talking northern manager yet dresses and tans like a posh college poof.

edit. no offence to anyone on here who also wears their bright coloured jumper like Phil, i know some of you had the 'Ronaldo short shorts' so no offence meant.

Well we know that but he was very seldom spoken about in such terms outside LFC and its fans. In fact my Spurs mate, who used to claim Carrick was much better than Xabi, has been on the blower this morning with his usual pre-match boasts, saying we'll get beaten today cos, you guessed it, we'll struggle without Alonso.

It's because we haven't won anything yet Shags and until we've proved to everyone that we have what it takes to win the PL, they are always going to come with things of the sort. Ferguson has done it time and again, and lost quality players and rebuilt successful and winning teams. He's done that throughout his reign and that's why TV pundits go for the 'safer' option of putting them as favourites.

They'll be there or thereabouts no doubt about it. I think they'll adapt their game.

My flatmates are from Malta and they are shocked by how crap the analysis we have on TV is.

Apparently Capello when he was on Sky Italy was exceptional.

The Alonso/Ronaldo thing is mad. There have however been a few articles around which have suggested that the opposite is true in the sense that while we would struggle to replace Alonso one for one replacing him with someone who more directly influenced results (i.e. scored/assisted goals) could make us stronger long term. Losing Ronaldo however you slice it has to reduce the productivity of their team.

Just seen him now, what a ****ing mess . Has he been taking fashion advice from Brüno maybe?

Mancs playing without Ferdinand, Vidic and Carrick. Looks like a really weak team.

Shame they're at home to the Brummies. They'd struggle to beat decent teams with that side.
