Platt did well at Sampdoria and Bari, less so at Juve.
Lineker did very well and they wanted to keep him. But he didn't fancy playing on the side of the main striker in a 433 when Cruyff took over from El Tel.
Archibold was another hit in Barca, just before Linekers time. Just missed out on a European Cup losing to the dour Steau on pens.
Hughes was a disaster as he didn't settle. Couldn't get to grips with the language, had no friends other than the Linekers due to this and being single and his arms banging into defenders heads style didn't go down too well with the fans of Barca or the refs. Got his own back though in 91 though with two goals in the CWC final.
Des Walker famously lost his pace in Italy and was never the same player.
Gascoigne had his moments but suffered through injuries.
Waddle and Hately were big hits at Marseille.Forwards.......
