    Problem is that it's not always obvious which incidents are dives and which are just pushing it a bit. Even with replays it's not necessarily obvious. I think it needs to be the refs that crack down on it but they are such big decisions, booking for a player or pen for the opposition. Will always be one of the most contentious areas of the game and whatever crackdown there is, we'll be talking about it until the cows come home. The people that can really make the difference are managers. If they all openly criticised their players when there were obvious incidents it would change the culture significantly, but as you said, it's not in their interests and they generally don't have the necessary integrity.

      I think Wenger may have a point about the power of the SFA at UEFA.

      Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
