It makes me laugh how facts can become distorted over time. Some one e-mailed in to a radio phone in saying it was no different than when we played Fulham a couple of season ago, and started 9 players who had never played in the premiership before. Now my memory may not be what it used to, but IIRC we started Insua and El Zhar, and the rest were fringe players who had certainly played for us before. It was just that cunt Warnock who had never heard of them.

Of course, but he has clearly overdone it no? To change a couple of players with the Burnley game in mind was understandable, but to change all 10 outfield players for your first trip to OT since promotion is a slap in the face to all those Wolves fans who dreamt of nights like this, watching their team playing at stadiums like OT against the best teams.

And to hold that hope, no matter how small, that they could actually get a result. Not to see your own Manager all but hand the 3 points to the opposition before asking his team to line-up, bend over and take it like a man.

To simply send out a paltry reserve team and watch them roll over was insukting to their own fans and disrespectful to the very sporting ethos of this country.

I feel sorry for the fans but it was a practical decision - getting a dream point against Utd isn't much good if your relegation rivals take 3 points off you the following weekend.

That day we had the likes of Fowler, Hyypia, Alonso, Reina, Sissoko and Bellamy in the team. All full internationals.

However we still did make nine changes from our team the previous week as we had a CL semi coming up midweek. Surely we're in no position to be getting on our high horse about Wolves making all these changes. Okay, the calibre of player drafted in by McCarthy wasn't as high as we had, but given the respective squads you wouldn't expect it to be. They're still all first team squad members. It's not like he threw in a load of kids. I think there was only one player last night who hadn't made their league debut.

Our game against Fulham had a huge impact on the relegation scrap and while we can dismiss moaning Sheff Utd fans as bitter we're showing double standards by moaning when one of our rivals benefits from a similar ploy. If Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see the Scum get any unnecessary advantage but If I was in Mick McCarthy's shoes I wouldn't feel like I did anything out of order.

I really can't see them being charged, what they did was a joke, but it's a squad game now and all the players were from the first team squad. I'm not defending what they did but I'd imagine it would be easy for them to defend themselves if necessary by saying their players were too tired after the weekend. I know alot of people will dispute that but it's a subjective opinion which can't be proved one way or another, it will go no further IMO

No, but as far as I can tell this week Wenger has decided to be critical of anything but his team. I don't think anyone else knew what he was talking about when he said the referee allowed Burnley to get away with a lot of over physical things.

Even the Chelsea fans interviewed on 5Live yesterday seemed to think it was a reasonable thing for Wolves to do.

The same Wenger who is having a hissy because his team is having to play 3 games in a week, and his players will be tired whereas Hulls will be well rested? Maybe he should have rotated some players against Burnley, like Wolves did against United then?

Its absolutely shameful that these clubs give up before they even reach Old Trafford. By making 10 changes to a winning team they threw the game and should be docked points for it. If he made 5 or 6 changes then I could understand but to suggest all 10 players needed rested is a joke. Its about time these clubs were told to stop bending over for United

Just thinking how much things have changed over recent years, as it was Ferguson's comments that teams try harder against Man Utd than anyone else that provoked Keegan's "I'd love it..." rant, it now seems to be the opposite that's true.

To be honest, McCarthy shouldn't have bothered travelling - don't play it take the 3-0 hit or whatever it is and save the diesel in the coach...

The thing is even with their first team out would anyone have thought they would do any better? The Friend chance was key and anything similar would have been overall. I'm not sure why McCarthy deserves any more bad feelings than the many teams who go to Old Trafford with no real game plan but to hold a 0-0 via the medium of out and out good fortune (and we have seen that any number of times in recent years).

It doesn't matter if their first team wouldn't have done any better. All that matters is intention.

If every club that goes to Old Trafford just sends their reserve team then whats the point of the league? Atleast 2 or 3 clubs do this every season and its sickening. The league is supposed to be competitive and fair.
