TBF he was ****e, but the lad has turned it right round and is now easily one of the hottest and most exciting players in Europe IMO. That period when Spurs spent money like a drunken sailor has paid off IMO.

This thread was started 3 years ago when he was 20.

Perhaps a lesson to be learned from those expecting our 17-20 yo’s to be world beaters and exaggerating their ‘regression’ after a few poor performances.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Good point. It is all about balance, i.e. also not getting carried away with young talent and over hyping them.

Aye, despite all my moaning about people harshly criticising, I’m just as guilty of doing the exact opposite.

Tbh i'm not sure of how good of an all round player he is, i don't think he compares to Suarez for instance, but he's scoring spectacular goal after spectacular goal, mostly by way of strikes from distance, so if/when that dries up, what sort of player would be left ?

Suarez has more goals, more key passes, more assists, a better goals to minute ratio, more tackles and more recoveries than Bale in 2012-13.

Also, less yellow cards for diving.

Bale is obviously very good but the comparison with Suarez is silly. Suarez is superior in every way.

Bale is a class act, dare I say it he's becoming Spurs Steven Gerrard in so much he is dragging his team to victories almost single handed.

I should think Spurs parent club will come calling this summer for him and likely we'll see Madrid taking an interest as well.

Yep, I fully expect him to be joining the scum. He would fit right in there.
