I just said that they were allegedly breaching FFP rules. They would have been unsubstantiated if I were a journalist writing in an official newspaper, not on a bloody forum.

It's a ****ing ridiculous price for a 24 year old performing in 1 season. Ronaldo had performed longer, and shown his talent at much younger age and how Real are paying more for Bale is beyond me. But as said hat's off for Spurs for pulling this one through.

Add to that the fact that latest on the deal is £93m + Coentrao = ~100m.

I disagree, where as Ronaldo for example showed world class and that he was one of the biggest talents and worlds best players before sold, Bale have IMO only really shown to be above the rest for 1 season. From what I have seen he has had one season, where he set himself apart from the other group of good wingers in the league. Not saying he can't repeat what he did last season, and he might turn out to be one of the better players in Europe next season again - but it's still to show - and that's why it's ridiculous that he will be the most expensive player ever.

To me he is in the tier just below the best players still, but can get up there if he has more seasons like the last one. As a world class player he is a one season wonder for me, as a very good winger he is certainly more than that.

Need to get Houllier in charge of Real - his old sit deep, counter attack with Bale and Ronaldo on the break would just be insanely effective!
