I think I've mostly made up my mind about whether a player is a cunt or not regardless of whether they strike to get a move or whatever. I liked Mascherano so I wasn't bothered by how he went. Bale is a diving cheating ****pig whether he trained with Spurs or not. Ronaldo could find a cure for cancer and move to a children's hospital charity team of dads and he'd still be a cunt.

Bale is a bit of a gorm and a diving ****er & Ronaldo is arrogance personified but i genuinely wouldn't be arsed enough to 'hate' them.... their just names on a long list of people who earn too much money & act like tools. Hate would require that i actually cared...meh.

Their just footballers & most footballers are ****ing idiots... who simply don't know how lucky they are.

Yeah, there was the usual splurge of sanctimonious horse**** on here at that time spouted by people who, doubtless genuinely but still nonsensically, felt personally let down by Mascherano.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Do I detect some revisionism re the Hodgson / Masch episode? As far as I remember, Hodgson hadn't even had a competitive game with us when this was going on, and people at that stage were generally supportive, if underwhelmed by him. It was only about October time that people really started turning on him, and even then, it was much more gradual from what I recall.
                        Oh I don't know.

Of course the tide against him surged over time but some of us loathed the very idea of him even before he'd been appointed.

I didn't give him time or support him as LFC manager. If that makes me a bad supporter in some eyes then that's cool. Some decisions are so glaringly wrong we don't need to wait for proof...although it duly arrived in the shape of PFK, Mike 'Fackin' Kelly, mighty Northampton Town and the fact we played totally ****e anti-football.

I don't know how many people were always against him but I know Shaggy was too and we were far from the only ones.

Shaggy didn't like him before his appointment. Most of us had major doubts. His appointment was an absolute non event IIRC from my side.

From what I recollect, only BobTheCharmer, backed him to the hilt. I remember having words with him at the end of The Bodge's tenure.

Absolutely, I was dismayed we were even chasing him, couldn't believe it when we signed him up.
