Valdes refuses to sign a new deal at Barca - will he join former boss Guardiola at Bayern
Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is planning to leave after turning down a new deal and could link up with former coach Pep Guardiola.
Valdes, who has spent his entire career at the Nou Camp, is contracted to Barcelona until 2014.
His representatives confirmed in a statement to Spanish national news agency Efe that Valdes intends to depart.
The statement read: 'The agents of Victor Valdes have communicated to Barcelona in a meeting held this afternoon the irrevocable decision of the player to not renew his contract.'
The 30-year-old has recently suggested he would consider a move to another league. With Guardiola heading to Bayern Munich next season, Valdes may become an early target of his old Barca boss.
Valdes has been Barcelona's No 1 throughout the last decade, winning a host of trophies and earning recognition with Spain, however Real Madrid's Iker Casillas has remained the regular national team goalkeeper.

Pepe Reina's father believes the Liverpool goalkeeper would be 'delighted' to return to Barcelona.
Victor Valdes has chosen not to extend his contract with the La Liga giants while Reina's future continues to be linked away from Anfield, with Arsenal said to be planning a summer move for him.
The Reds stopper spent the formative years of his career at the Nou Camp, making 30 appearances for the first team between 2000 and 2002, and Miguel Reina, who also played for the Catalan side, has claimed that his son would be an ideal candidate to replace the outgoing Valdes.
“He would be more than delighted to return to Barcelona," he told La Xarxa radio.
“He did well from the moment he arrived there as a 12-year-old to when he left.
"I think Pepe has sufficiently demonstrated since then the quality of goalkeeper that he is.
“Nowadays, I think he would rise to the occasion. He would be ideal as the Barcelona keeper, certainly.”

The decision by Victor Valdes to reject a new contract at Barcelona will ensure Manchester United consider the 31-year-old keeper to replace David de Gea, 22, at the end of the season.

If we get an offer of 8-10 mill for pepe i'd consider selling.
he's served his time with us and been outstanding for a large majority of it but the last 18 months have not been good for him. standards have dropped and with valdes free (not as good IMO as pep but on a free its really good deal - also, valdes will NOT go to bayern. they have the best keeper in world football right now so why replace?)People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.
