    Beckham suffers achilles injury

According to Sky News Breaking on Twitter

EDIT: It's on Sky News breaking news strap. Apparently he's torn it meaning he's probably out of the World Cup

Shame but he's replaceable in the squad. SWP and Johnson should be called up. If they could get a decent right back, could play our Glen on the wing. I bet he's devastated, this had to be his last tournament

Its a shame for the guy because I think he deserved a place in the squad on merit. But he isn't the 1st to miss out due to injury and he wont be the last. He certainly isn't the most irreplaceable.

Not irreplacable but a fella of his character deserves one last world cup. I'm gutted for the guy, seems a genuinely nice chap.

All things considered he deserved to go purely based on his form. He has been superb for Milan everytime I have watched them play this season.

Serves him right? He's a Man Utd fan, of course he's going to lend his support, why wouldnt he?

If we had a similar campaign and someone like Hyypia publically supported it, would you think an injury would serve him right too?

The way Sky are reporting it, you'd swear the end of the world was nigh.

Dont get me wrong, i'll not be losing sleep over it

Just feel a bit sorry for him, he seems a decent enough fella and compared to some of the other members of the england squad, that's a novelty.

                              Poor poor *******.

He's moved heaven and earth to make himself ready and selectable for this world cup. Must be heartbreaking.

If other England players showed even a shadow of the commitment to the cause he does England would be worth watching again and we'd also quite possibly have not been waiting so long for another cup. Of recent years I've developped a lot of respect for the fella, which as suprised me too.

If we miss the player or not is one matter, but I think we will miss his commitment.

Regardless of his Manc past I think he deserves sympathy. He's proved himself to be English first so he's one of us
