It's not ......most footballers we know play for the money ....... my point is were all aware of this .....didn't think he needed to go public on the matter ....... not as if he came out and said am playing for free or giving half my money away ....... tbh this is my final say on this ......Footballers are always pushing for more money we know that......

As I said before, I don't really understand why some get upset by the fact that footballers are employees and as other 90% of them the pay check is a factor upon deciding your workplace.
But that said, and somewhat in defence of Bender, I don't see the point of stating it in public - it's not like everybody else that's employed somewhere needs to go out and state it. In fact it would most likely create a bad atmosphere around the work place, where other values than money might actually play a factor.
But let's face it only a handfull of individuals are so connected to their club/work place today that money does not become a factor. In our own team I could point to 3 players currently and that is Carra, Gerrard and Pepe, out of a squad of around 30 players.

I reckon he could do alright mate. He has bags of pace which will get him out of trouble if he's caught out of position.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe's alright. He'll get found out if they progress in the CL.
A very much improved player. He's got a super understanding with Bale down the left.
Imagine them two players playing down our left, make a massive difference.

i would love to see the question asked by the interviewer. People are making it out as if he sought out the press to tell them how much he loves the money. I can only imagine he was asked a question about whether he is in it for the money or for the game, and he asnwered truthfully, i see nothing wrong with that. I think it would be a completely different situation if he went to the press... but i just dont think it happened like that96 Never Forgotten
