true, but atleast he is there, plus he is the kind of player who would get a run if they are already qualified for the next stage after two games, or if they get a decent goal lead in a game

unfortunatly yes they do
Rommedahl is 31 so not that old just crap
Grønkjær is 32 close to 33 and is still a decent player but constantly injured.
Our achilles-heel is def. our wings, they are of mixed quality to say it nicely

Really? I don't want to be mean but if they're worse than your strikers then you're in big trouble.Originally posted by Darkon View Post

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Yep, the old man martin jørgensen still gets plenty of games, but this will be his last with the national team I reckon. He is about the only one with WC experience in the team so it is probably a good thing having him there.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostJørgensen still gets in as well.
Is there a shortage of new attacking talent in Denmark?
The defenders are ok, but that's about it.
Midfield ok but grey.
But the attacking talent is a bit short in Denmark atm, but some very good young people are starting to break through now. Christian Eriksen is very promising, Bendtner plays very well for the national team and a couple of mids are getting to be a part of the team now and then now.
Oh and have to say that our GK, defence and central mid is very good IMO, but our weakness is the flanks where we are not good enough now. And Tomasson hasn't scored in like 10 games for the national team, so a lot relies on Bendtner now.

Other than that they're not very good? They're not terrible but they're hardly top class. IMO of course.Originally posted by Darkon View Postwhat is wrong with our strikers? besides Søren Larsen that is....

In fact, why are you asking? You seem to agree. Let's be honest, if your attack is relying on Bendtner then it's not up to much..

But I was just curious as to why you didn't rate them, always good to see neutral fans perspective on it!

3 strikers is not much but we always play a 4-3-3 system in the style of Ajax and Barcelone (albeit poorer than the later that is).Originally posted by fernandinho View Postonly 3 strikers? normally 4 for most squads.. what formation do they play, i guess if they play lone striker then that is ok, btw it seems the bendtner actually knows how to kick the ball for the national team for some reason
So basically we play with one striker and 2 wingers/inside forwards and normally Rommedahl on the right and varies a bit on the other. And then we play with one AM just behind the lone striker which varies a bit.
So basically:
_____GK
RB CD CD LB
___CM_CM
RW__AM__LW
____STR

I think the thing with Bendtner is that he is far from as good as he thinks. I can't quite make my mind up about him - he is very inconsistent and seems to lack awareness but on his day he is a very dangerous player. How has he been at international level - better like Savo Milosovic and Darius Vassell, the same as for Arsenal or worse?Originally posted by Darkon View PostTomasson is still a very good striker but going through a form crisis in the national team atm. On the international level he is far more consistent than at arsenal, and basically play every game like when he is best for them (so far).
He fits the system and plays well as the lone striker and have at times even played on the inside forward position with succes.
