I think it will be a massive flop. South Africa is just not ready for an event that size and I've read reports of some outrageous things happening there, such as flogging whole shanty towns to other places and fencing people inside barbed wires etc ...

as a scotland fan i have this problem every single time a major tourny comes around.

of late its been spain for the obvious reasons so no doubt i'll stick with them but again as a scotland fan i also like to pick a "no hope" nation and support them as well.........possible honduras this year.

Throughout the year I'm not a fan of international footy, it's just a distraction from the real footy, but something about the WC makes me go a little nuts. I turn into a big kid waiting for Christmas.

I think after the **** season but it's more pronounced, as it's a chance to be distracted from it for at least a few weeks.

Will be supporting England obviously (I'm English) made all the sweeter by the good chance of England v Australia in the 2nd round.

Aussie sports fans are both bad winners and bad losers so if we get a chance to knock 'em out it will be pure joy.

nothing wrong with aussie sports fans are the that dissimilar to pommies, drink heaps and no matter what happens (mainly cause we are drunk) either the ref got it wrong or we deserved to win for some reason

Spain for me, but I do also have a soft spot for Brazil and the Dutch.

It would be great to see an African nation do well too. Ghana and Ivory Coast are decent sides.
