I also think that people are getting a bit over excited about bale after about 10 good games. he was really, really **** for a long time. People would have been hating him if he had been here. Walcott hasn't convinced me that he was any better value than Babel really. Young has flattered to decieve looked good when Villa had little pressure whenever they have been under pressure he has faded away - not even in the extended England squad is he.

Are you seriously suggesting that we could have out bid City for Johnson? Not many people were even mentioning him before he had a run in the first team in the Championship. Pretty much all clubs had passed him up so I don't think it is a problem specific to us in that case.

Yeah he's a good player but the fee is crazy. Absolutely crazy. What was Joleon Lescott? £25m? Cos that was ****ing insane (not even in the World Cup squad of 30! ) but this would be just as OTT.

Villa should sell. If they can get £25m, they could use that to get maybe 4 very good players. Their weakness has always been a paper thin squad and with those sort of funds, they could seriously bolster themselves.

Maybe they want to see if he has a stormer in the world cup but i shouldnt think it could reach the point where they might get more than say £25m. That has to be the maximum they might get for him - they should seriously sell.
