True, but two wrongs don't make a right Lassy. Not honouring a verbal contract you made with a club that helped make you a decent player just doesn't seem a very honourable thing to do to me.
I don't think he is even thought to have made a verbal contract. The rule, I believe, is that the player has to be offered a deal of equal or better terms to those he is in for the club to receive compensation. the player does not have to accept and there is no issue of Gosling having broken a verbal contract here. It turns out that the deal must be offered in writing and not merely verbally for the rule to apply. I suspect that this wasn't something that the club, or possibly even any club, has thought about in the past.

Jose has United escape clause in Real contract - Exclusive
Jose Mourinho’s dream of becoming Manchester United manager has moved a giant step closer.
Sources close to Real Madrid have revealed that their new boss can leave at the end of each of his four years in charge with no compensation to be paid by either party.
Sunday Mirror Sport *revealed in May that *Mourinho had insisted in a get out clause after agreeing to join Real from Champions League *winners Inter Milan.
The news that he will be a free agent each summer until 2014 means that when Sir Alex Ferguson retires the prospect of luring Mourinho as his Old Trafford successor will be *attractive and affordable.
Mourinho, 47, has always maintained that he will *return to the Premier League after winning two titles in three seasons with Chelsea.
United is his preferred *destination and he’s seen as one of the few men with the ego to follow in Fergie’s *footsteps.
The Portuguese won two Serie A championships in two *seasons at Inter, but quit the Italian club in May following the Champions League Final victory over Bayern Munich in the Bernabeu.

I'm not suprised by this, I've always been expecting him to move to the Scum when the old drunk retires.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
My ex-wife is moving this summer, assuming her house sale goes through smoothly.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
Love the way the media puts his escape clause in as a "United escape clause" Typical ****. They guy has turned into a journeyman a year or two here and there. Dont think he has it in himself to build a dynasty like fergie did at united.

finally, some positive news.
I'm not sure about that. She's not moving any further away.
