South Africa left out Benni McCarthy, so i thought maybe they've got a good few better striking options.

Now i see they've only picked 3 forwards

Fairly wide open this group, what with South Africa being host nation but ****, France being a shadow of the side from the late 90s and 2000, Uruguay being nothing like the team of old which competed at a high level, and Mexico who can flatter to deceive.

McCarthy is useless though and is quite frankly, fat. He is also not hugely popular in South Africa.

Yeah but they were actually good.

It is not really an issue if they play one upfront of if any of their midfielders can play as attackers too.

Depends if they pick up an injury or not.

Do they not only play the 1 striker anyway with Pienaar supporting?

They do, but there's little room to adapt that and at some point, you're gonna need to go to two up front. If they pick up an injury, they're gonna have (more) difficulty.
