I think playing Germany is a good thing. The group didn't challenge the team and everything was done at a snails pace. Facing Germany will be the wake up call and I think we were more likely to get knocked out by Ghana by believing they were not a proper challenge than Germany who they know is going to be a seriously tough game.

Oh and credit to the US. That youtube video was great, good result for you guys and pleased to see that people back home care too.

Totally agree, I am convinced this route is better for England. Not easier, obviously, but better. They always play better against the better sides and are always liable to slip up against weaker sides - as evidenced in the group games.

Oh and Beckenbauer is a total gob****e. Keep talking Franz, keep talking

No chance. I really hope England win though, although I won't lose any sleep if they go out. I didn't feel much yesterday despite wanting them to win. Didn't feel nervous or anything. I just don't feel England, even though I'm behind them.

              Mirrors my thoughts

I also have this weird thing where I'm reluctant for anybody bar a Liverpool player to score. It means less somehow

I dont see that at all, just a rubbish cliche imo. Especially considering England's history against tough teams, they basically get through the group then go out to the first tough team they play. Theres no way playing Germany and Argentina is better than Ghana and Uruguay. They're capable of beating both still but theres just no way on earth this draw is better for England, that just doesnt make any sense at all.

England have a better chance against decent attacking teams than they do against decent defensive teams imo. As Ghana are neither, I'd rather have had them.

Terry on the other hand told assorted media from all over the world that he does not think the players that his manager has picked up until this point are good enough and who he should be picking in the next game.

Terry was also kind enough to point out that he and other members of the England team have issues with the way Capello was running things in SA and that he, Terry, was going to confront Capello about them during a team meeting.

Short of refusing to play again for the manager there's not much more Terry could have done to undermine Capello.

Terry is a cock. Obviously still has a grudge against Capello for stripping him of the captancy.
Oh is that all ! At least he didn't smack him one.

Come on though, being serious for a minute, he is bang out of order saying anything of a sort to the gaffer.

Aye, pity though, that he was'nt hitting the ground from a greater height...and at more of an acute angle though eh.... would have made it all the more enjoyable.

But hats off to him... he really threw himself into that one.

Blotted his copy book somewhat with his little...'hey hey..all huddle round me i'm the boss' for the cameras after the game though, while the players huddled..he had his head out looking to see if the cameras were watching.
