My England player ratings:
Green 4 - only for the horrendous mistake, i thought he was solid apart from that
Johnson 6 - got forward well and looked strong, final ball wasn't always great tho
King 6 - played well when he was on, didn't do much wrong
Terry 7 - thought the cunt was pretty good tbf, won most in the air and organised the back 4, played it well on the deck too
A.Cole 5 - Donavan gave him the run around, not his best game
Lennon 4 - thought he was ****e tbh, showed his pace on occasions as always but nothing went with it, no final ball, got caught in possession. Poor.
Lampard 4.5 - everyones saying that Lamps and SG finally proved they can play together...WHAT??? Lampard was annoymous from start to finish and when he was on the ball he gave it away cheaply too many times
Gerrard 8 - MOTM by a country mile, quality finish for the goal, put in some crunching tackles and ran the show. Bit quieter 2nd half but overall an impressive opening performance.
Milner n/a - not on long enough to rate
Heskey 7 - looked the Heskey that was dynamite in his first season with us - strong, quick, powerful and a real handful. Brill assist Fair play to him.
Rooney 5 - showed flashes of his brilliance but looked well off the mark, played too deep especially 2nd half and looked frustrated and tired.
Subs
Carra 5 - thought our boy struggled a bit, won some important headers in the air though
SWP 5 - in his defence he should never be playing left mid, didn't produce enough in the final third.
Crouch n/a - not enough minutes on the pitch to rate
