It was also quite funny because when Stankovic kicked Gomez, it caused him to get really bad cramp too. I don't really dislike the Germans as much as others, but I am happy because this loss will prevent people jizzing over them so much and also realise just how ****e Australia were. He wasn't at all, it was a bizarre and thoroughly incorrect thing to say, fuelled by a misguided over-confidence having just beaten one of the worst teams in the tournament. No doubt England are functional, bit dull etc - that is a hallmark of Capello's teams - but the long ball stuff is just tripe. There is a table ranking teams on how many long balls they played, and England are well down it.

The kick and rush? Very much how England play, not long ball maybe, but a uncontrolled game with very little technical ability, definitely.
