Extra point per 2 goals scored in the group phase?

    Comment

      ¡Es un pesadilla mierda!
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Clearly they're not 6 goals worth better.
With regards to the Swiss, you can't blame, going out to attack Spain would lose them the game and such a tactic would be plain stupid.
Whether you like it or not, defending is just as much part of football as attacking and it is the foundation for a good team, just look at Brazil in 82, half arsed defending cost them dearly.

        The results say otherwise.

Probably one of the most sensible suggestions you have ever made on this forum

I don't blame the swiss for what they were doing but Del Bosque has only himself to blame for leaving Villa completely isolated and surrounded by defenders. It took him 60 minutes to sub Busquets for a striker but he should have foreseen that problem before the game.

Fabiano was completely isolated last night too and I fail to see the point in playing Melo and Gilberto Silva together against North Korea

I'm not blaming the Swiss, but it's turned it into a completely ****e spectacle.

Of course defending is 'just as much part of football', you dont need to tell me that in such a patronising, all-knowing and condescending manner.

If these teams therefore did 'just as much' attacking as defending, it'd be rather good to watch.

Some no mark team is gonna win this world cup by goalless-ing their way to penos and advancing without managing even one goal per game.

That was 2002. South Korea and Turkey in the semi finals. Now that was ****.

I havent watched any games to date (might begin in the quarters depending on the games). Anyways, without seeing the players performances. I wonder if they are playing too much football without a decent break. It used to be every 2 years there was a major championship (world cup and european championship), now there is something every season, we now have the Olympics, Confederations cup and a lot of other joke tournaments. Now there is no let up for them the club seasons are extended more than they used to be.

Massively disappointed in Spain, it looked as though they thought they could get away with having no tempo or urgency in their play and still win comfortably.

Everyone was hoping Spain would get so far lacklustre World Cup off to a flier with beautiful, attacking football but they sure as hell let us down.

There should be a Winter break defo but at the end of the day, it's the fans that save their bollocks off for years so as they can attend the World Cup who suffer.

Nope, its the world cup of **** football. Best thing that can happen is for Marradonna to lift the world cup.
