    A Different England

So now we've witnessed the utter shambles that is Engerland 2010, we must look forward to 2012 and 2014. It is clear to see that there are a number of shortcomings to the approach, mentality and technique displayed over the 4 matches.

For me, the biggest problem is that we look tired. One could argue that a successful Premier League team has a lot of games to play including league and tournament. Up to 60 games for some players! But then the Premier League is made up of a lot of foreign players, many of which are playing in this years World Cup and they look strong and effervescent. Tevez comes to mind.

No, for me the tiredness is the kind displayed when your partner reminds you that you still haven't gotten round to cleaning the BBQ or build that shelving unit.

Another thing on display is our lack of technique. Simple passes bounced off the players as though they were wearing clown shoes. No one was running to make themselves available for a forward or side pass to move the ball forward. Dribbling was non existent. Why is Milner worth £30m? Surely that would make Kuyt worth the same?

I'm trying to think of English players who could represent a different England, one which extols the virtue of technique over percentages.

Which players come to mind for you?

    Ashley Young?
    Jack Wilshere?

Adam Johnson - brilliant player and will be better in the next few years, sod playing gerrard on the right. if you have this guy as an option on the left, then use him.

Kieron Gibbs is a possibility also.

Wilshere will be interesting to see how he develops as he is rated so highly, definitely talented though but possibly too lightweight? We'll see what happens.

    Shawcross?

Joe Hart - from now on should be england's number one, get some experience in him before the major tournaments and he will get better as well already a cracking keeper.

    Will add others soon.

Damn I just heard about Victor Moses and Freddie Sears too.

Of course we need some experience but who would provide that?

              The key is youth.

We need players who are young and skillful with a proper desire to earn their spot in the team. Just had to look at the game yesterday with the age of the squad, and even more alarming the substitutions of Heskey and Cole. It's just ****ed, needs a complete overhaul.

Glen Johnson will still be young enough then, and infinitely better than that pile of ****e Onuoha.

Others will still be young enough too, the likes of Joe Cole and Milner.

Well considering Beckham was well in contention to play in SA before his injury, and he's what, 35? So why not Joe Cole? 32 wont be too old.

i'd be suprised if he was still there in 4 years time. he's struggled with injuries these last couple of years. And whilst i like joe cole, beckham is different class to him imo. I'd say there is more chance of a 34 year old Steven Gerrard still being involved.

They could very easily both still be involved.
