    Henry to leave Barca

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Thierry Henry allowing the striker to leave the club.

The 32-year-old forward has long been linked with a move to America, where Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls are favourites to land his signature.

Henry, who moved to Camp Nou from Arsenal for €24million in 2007, has not produced his form of old during his time in Spain and is not in manager Pep Guardiola's plans for next season.

He was not regarded as first choice last term as Barca once more clinched the Primera Liga title ahead of rivals Real Madrid.

Henry's contract was due to run until June 2011 but a deal has been reached allowing the Frenchman to depart Catalonia.

Barcelona director general Joan Oliver said: "It was a special position with the player and we have accepted.

"For Barca it is not a bad agreement because we avoid paying him next season."

Henry has just endured a torrid World Cup campaign with France, and the former Gunner is now expected to move on to pastures new.

It would be a travesty for this guy to go to America, we should definitely be in for him
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

As good as he was, he's not that player any more. 4 years since he did anything of note.

And aside from football, he's a disgusting cheat and unprofessional as they come. He can **** off to LA.

      I'd rather have Danny Murphy.
      Oh I don't know.

I don't get it that people think he's a big failure at Barca. Even though he hasn't played as much or as well as he did for Arsenal he still managed to get 35 goals and 19 assists in 80 league games. Also if you don't include the last season when he didn't play regulary it's 31 goals and 17 assists in 59 games.

If we can get him for free the shirt sales would probably cover his wages.

If we sign Henry, we lose all our Irish fans.

Seems like a no brainer to me. Get that contract ready.

New York, actually... and I'd love to see him in the new Red Bull arena. He'd love it here.

He's looked broken this last year. A bit like he did before he left Arsenal. I think if he goes somewhere like the US the lower level will suit and rejuvenate him but despite my desire to see experienced, proven winners added to the squad I think we should steer well clear.

Still a good finisher, still has the game intelligence to run rings round the poorer defenses in the league. Would definitely be happy to sign him for a couple of seasons.
