love him, takes football back to being entertainment instead of the tense money dominated sport it has become, George Best did far more bizarre things in his career.

Regardless of the showboating in this particular incident, it was a terrible effort. He wasn’t even close.
Keep up the good work Mario.

Troubled Manchester City forward Mario Balotelli has provoked yet more controversy by declaring he is "not happy" in the city only a week before the start of the biggest season in the club's history.
Speaking to an Italian television station moments after his most impressive display of pre-season in a comprehensive 3-0 victory over former club Inter Milan, the disaffected striker stressed he is happy with manager Roberto Mancini and his City team-mates.
But the 20-year-old's admission that he dislikes Manchester itself -- a complaint that has also been made by Argentinian team-mate Carlos Tevez -- will hardly encourage Mancini to return that affection.
Balotelli gave the interview as his manager held a press conference in which he warned that the player needed to show more maturity.
"I am not happy in Manchester," Balotelli said. "I do not like the city. With my team-mates and my manager, everything is fine, but the city is not to my tastes. I miss the chance to be at home with my family and with my friends."
Asked whether he might join AC Milan or return to Inter -- the former is more likely, eventually, according to sources in Italy -- the striker mischievously replied that his home was not Milan, but Brescia.

"That is my home," he said. "(AC) Milan is a great team and one day, you cannot say what will happen. Inter again? We will see. At the moment, I am attached to Manchester."
Balotelli has struggled to adapt to life in England, complaining of boredom despite City's best attempts to provide interests for him. Among other activities, the club have arranged go-karting lessons for him, but seemingly to little avail.
Given the trouble the club have endured with Tevez through his desire to leave the club, a second striker determined to unsettle Mancini's preparations for the new campaign is the last thing that City need. They play Manchester United in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday.

I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06
Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree in part but I don't think you have to be a dick head to have character. He amuses me and I enjoy his hijinks but he is an absolute moron really.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI think he's great. And to think it was 'seemingly to little avail'. Hard to believe. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Completely agree.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI think he's great. Football has become full of expressionless bores, media trained to death. A character comes along, at last, and everyone wants to drive him out.
He has a few screws loose and is a total hoot. There may be potential for him to destabilise his club, so as long as it's one of our rivals, what's not to like?Oh I don't know.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
