Always like Xabi but if true he really should keep him mouth closed on any matters affecting his former teammates and focus only on his career..

It's not like he was a superstar since he moved to Real.

I can't believe how easily many of the people on here swallow the sensationalist ****e that gets printed in the media, and then react in a classic knee-jerk style. Alonso played for Sociedad and with Pacheco during his time at Liverpool. It's only natural that Dani would approach him on hearing of their interest. To assume Alonso is helping engineer a move is just madness.

When I have a headhunter call me about a job opportunity, the first thing I do is ask around my network and find someone who works at the new place to see what it's like. I imagine most people would do the same thing.

Xabi is merely helping out a young pro by giving him information he needs to make an informed decision on his future. Nothing wrong with that at all. But of course the press have to make it into something bigger, but the worst part is that so many Liverpool fans continue to believe their garbage just because it's in the press. People should really learn to think for themselves instead of over-reacting like a bunch of tween schoolgirls.

Well yeah, via the Echo. I think/hope we have no intention of selling him but he might have other ideas.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think some people have taken some other people's comments a tad too seriously.

Our Dani has had a haircut. On Eurosport 2 now.

2-1 France with a few minutes left.

And Spain lack any concept of urgency.

France win 2-1, congratulations to Chris Mavinga and to Pacheco for winning the Golden Boot.

Strange but enjoyable game, France barely had a kick in the first half but bullied the **** out of them in the 2nd. Pacheco was very very good in the first half and extremely quiet in the 2nd, in keeping with the game really. Wonderfully-weighted pass for the goal.

I love his first touch and am intrigued to see him in that almost David Villa-esque role on the left of the '3' behind the striker. I genuinely think he can be an Iniesta type - comfortable in behind a striker, or in an even more withdrawn central role, or coming in off the left. He's class and for my money should already have strong claims for that spot on the left for us. I hope he makes the matchday squads and is eased in. I think he's ready.

Or Xabi could still be close to people at Sociedad and they asked him to sound out Pacheco to see if he would be interested in joining.

My version of events is entirely as beliveable as yours seeing as neither of us really know, interestingly enough the interview with Pacheco DIDN'T contain the quotes "Xabi has told me what a great club Sociedad are but he also said I am better staying at Liverpool"

My point for posting that is people will believe what they want to believe and while personally I think it's all bollocks and Pacheco won't be going anywhere some people have this bizarre blind faith to Alonso because they wrongly assume him leaving was the reason behind our poor season, one of the reasons yes, the reason? no.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
