    Teams managed

    1987–1989 Grantham Town
    1989 Shepshed Charterhouse
    1990–1995 Wycombe Wanderers
    1995 Norwich City
    1995–2000 Leicester City
    2000–2005 Celtic
    2006–2010 Aston Villa
    2011– Sunderland

On a side note I have a few friends who are Villa fans and they never fail to stick the knife in regarding LFC's failures. It pisses me off royaly. Can't wait until they drop..

They look like they're screwed unless Lambert can keep them up and get rid of any big eaners in the summer.

If he manages that then I think they will end up in good shape. He's a good manager and given time in the PL would make them competitive. I think better results would increase gates etc. It looks like a substantial 'if' though.

So finishing 6th 3 years on the trot and leaving them as a European club and signing the two players that they made their biggest profit on makes him responsible for their current predicament???

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He did spend a load of money on ****e though and you cant say he wasn't backed by Lerner.

Other managers have had to work on far tighter budgets than MON partly due to his bad purchasing.

I'm not defending him BTW, but how much did he spend and surely it was justified by his results? Even if they players didn't all go on to be world beaters, surely finsihing 6th three years in a row was still quite an achivement and about as best as Lerner could have hoped for his investment?

And surely he also didn't spend anything like £19m on Darren Bent which I'm guessing hasn't helped matter much.

It's Redknapp at Portsmouth all over again - spending beyond their means. He bought expensive players and put them on big contracts at a mid-table club. They massively over-achieved under him.

Without having a Rafa type net spend argument, if you just deduct the £30m profit from Milner, Young and Downing (all his signings), that gives him a net spend of only £54m over 4 seasons.

Just think you’re being a bit harsh on him.

                              Some shockers in there.

Website I checked said £7m for Warnock which I couldn't believe, as we're so **** at transfers. Forgot he went to Blackburn fuirst.
