The Most Expensive Squads in England

    1.) Man City - £379,700,000
    2.) Chelski - £234,935,000
    3.) Manure - £232,250,000
    4.) Spurs - £211,100,000
    5.) LFC - £126,100,000
    6.) Villa - £114,850,000
7.) Arsenal - £104,690,000 (However Arsenal's wage bill is as much as Chelsea & Man U's which needs to be taken into account.)

These figures are actual amounts paid for players currently on the books of each club not taking into account player sales...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

You just take each team's squad list & search the net for each player's cost - easy.

No most of the big transfers are made public
EDIT: Well the figures may not be 100% accurate, but they still show that money brings success...

I dont know exactly how, but Marcotti was saying the other day on twitter that barcalona list players as assets with a value next to them. i.e Ibrahimovic was listed as £70mil or something.

Maybe its been taken off clubs balance sheets

I think you need to take account of Spurs wages as well. We have a very strict structure in place.

I say that as I believe Cesc is on around £110k a week, where as Luka Modric is on £70k.

Yeah, your lot spend very little, dont they? Proper bargain bucket squad, you've got.

And that difference in wages between Fabregas and Modric, might be because Fabregas is infinitely better than Modric.

Brilliant... I don't believe I said we don't spend alot, I was talking about the wages we pay. As I actually said. We've got a strict wage cap system, which is true.

I don't disagree Cesc is better than Modric, but he's still not exactly **** and would be paid more than that if he was elsewhere.

It's all financial expense which goes on your playing staff. Whether it's transfer fees or wages, your club's outlay on players has been massive.

If Modric went to someone like United or Chelsea etc, yeah he'd probably be paid more - but that's because he's now proved himself to be a good PL player, whereas when you bought him, he wasnt remotely proven in our league. Obviously he'd get more money now, if he was to move on.

I imagine, when you lot get to renewing his current deal, his new deal wont be worth 'just' £70k p/w anymore - would you not agree?

What's wrong with that? Personally I wish we had many more fans of other sites on here.

Yea, but at the same time we haven't exactly done it the Man City or Chelsea route. A lot of the money we spent has been made back by selling other players. A habit I'm glad to say we looked to of finished.

Missed your last point, wasn't there when I first read your reply... We have just reviewed his salary and £70k is what we've given him.
