No non-sugar daddy-run club has done a City or Chelsea.

Your backers are precisely that though, they back the club with significant funds and as you rightly acknowledge, you've spent hugely in the last few years. In fact, unless i'm mistaken, in the last 6 years, you have the 2nd highest average net spend per season, behind only Man City.

In which case, i'd be very surprised if his first contract with you when you first signed him, was worth £70k p/w.

Of course it wasn't. But that just goes to reinforce my point on the strict wage structure?

I'd say it reinforces the point that Modric came to the PL as an unproven foreigner, and consequently didnt command a particularly massive salarly.

You really do like arguing for the sake of it eh.

I don't believe Modric himself was the main point of my statement, it was purely a point based on our wage system, to which you seem to have a serious grievance with.

If we were willing to spend £16 mil (our biggest amount on a player) then surely, in the eyes of other clubs - he would of been offered a bit more than what we pay him.

 I have a different point of view, so i like 'arguing for the sake of arguing' zzzzzzz

You disagree with my viewpoint - does that mean you also like arguing for the sake of arguing?

Every club has a wage structure, i dont really get what's different about Spurs in that regard. But whatever mate, each to their own. I'll just agree with you, so that i'm not accused of arguing for the sake of arguing.

Let me put it another way - if, by some miracle, you'd happened to have been able to sign David Villa - do you think you'd have only offered him £70k per week?

I'm sure you have a wage structure like every club does, barring City perhaps. But the fact that you may not have players earning over £100k per week is, in my opinion (assuming i'm allowed one, without it meaning i must like arguing for the sake of arguing ) that is largely reflective of the quality of players you've signed - eg, none of them were players of such a world renowned reputation, that warranted £100k p/w wages. If that makes sense.

Another example -if you'd signed Tevez, instead of City, i'm sure you'd have paid him close to £100k per week.

                    anyway

one thing that gets missed is that Citys squad isnt worth what they paid for them.

while the chavs and citeh have spent fortunes the price of players is sometimes hugely inflated just because its them, though it seems to have calmed down with the chavs.

Of course if you win the league then you will think it was worth it but on a player by player resale value then citehs squad is worth a lot less than that bought for figure.

Quite possibly, I'd be suprised if it was much more though.

Believe it or I think that Woodgate and King are our highest paid players.

And yet no sooner does one of our posters switch his allegiance to Inter Milan than he's banned.

I'm going to start a Facebook campaign against Paul.S for dumping him in that wheelie bin.

Oh wait, I haven't got a Facebook. Ah well, never mind. Long live Paul.S.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
