That's because the 4 english sides have to be split equally into the draw - so only 2 english clubs can be in Groups A-D, and only two can be in Groups E-H.

By that ruling, Spurs could only go into one of Groups A-D. Obviously not Group C, with the mancs.

So had to be A, B or D. Why it wasnt B or D, i've not researched into

It's to do with the TV coverage though - basically you cant have 3 english clubs on one night (the tuesday) and only one on the other (wednesday).

Turkish nobodies Bursapor into Group C with the Mancs, Valencia and Rangers.

This couldnt really have gone any better for the mancs - even the pot 2 side they've got are a shadow of their former selves. No Silva or Villa anymore, Valencia are going to be a very average side this year.
