George Kingkladze was ace.
Beardsley was a brilliant player who didn't always receive the accoldades.
Gascgoine too.
Another one was Faustinio Asprillia.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Maybe I misunderstood the point of this thread but when a general discussion of all-time greats occurs di Stefano rarely comes up. I felt at one point maybe it was because of when he played yet the names of Pele and Puskas never fail to be mentioned. My point being I know di Stefano is considered an all-time great but he may be one who is less well known to the average footy fan. I may be wrong but in several threads on this site discussing great players I cannot recall seeing his name come up. And I know that I would not consider most in here "average" fans.Originally posted by IN_RAFA_WE_TRUST View PostThis thread is getting a bit silly now,how can you say Baresi and Maldini are underrated?
Also di stefano.
they are up there with the all time greats of football.
He was before my time but read about him when growing up. It wasn't until the footy channels proliferated here in the US that I was privy to footage of his skills. His skill set truly would have been equally effective in the modern game. When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign, that the dunces are all in confederacy against him

Mark Lawrenson would have to get and mention. Another one who people think is a complete tool because of his crap punditry and don't remember him as a great player.
He could play anywhere across the back or anywhere across midfield and had his career cut short at 29.
As a kid growing up I loved Steve Nicol. What an attacking right back he was. Cashley X 10. That hat-trick against Newcastle in '87 I'll never forget it.
And for a non Liverpool player I'd go for the Brazilian lad who used to play with Maradona at Napoli, Careca.

Got to agree, he's obviously remembered/noted for other stuff but he was an amazing footballer. Loved watching him play. Around Italia 90/Gazza ManiaOriginally posted by Slinky Skills View Post
Gascgoine too.
I was 12 or 13 and absolutely worshipped the guy. An incredible player.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Just a shame he was a complete loon otherwise his career could have been even better.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
