Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says that Tom Hicks and George Gillett are not responsible for Liverpool's current plight and that he can't see what the American pair have done wrong at Anfield.
Co-owners Hicks and Gillett are deeply unpopular with Liverpool fans and are viewed by most Kopites as little more than mercenaries. With the New England Sports Ventures group poised to purchase Liverpool, Hicks and Gillett's reign looks to be over.
However, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp, who has experienced his fair share of club chairman and owners over the years and refuses to point the finger at Hicks and Gillett for the current state of affairs at Liverpool.
In his column in the ****rag, Redknapp said, "I have utmost sympathy for the Reds' owners, George Gillett and Tom Hicks.
"All they seem to have done is plough a fortune into the place and they stand to lose a fortune when they sell it.
"But, for all that, all they get is grief week-in, week-out.
"It's not their fault the expensive players who have been brought in are not performing as they should be."
Redknapp laid the blame on the players, rather than the board, commenting "The Liverpool team is full of world-class talent and some costly flops.
"Hicks and Gillett wrote cheques for star striker Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt , a member of Holland's World Cup final squad.
"Alberto Aquilani cost £20million and has been a disaster - but is that the owners' fault?"
The outspoken Redknapp summarized, "It's not often you'll hear a manager stick up for a chairman or chairmen but I'd love to know what the two Americans have done that is so wrong."
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
Has any other manager been on the receiving end of such bile as rafa? Harry, fat Sam,fat head and fergie all having a go, including Roy making a few noises about him. It really is a disgrace that they get away with it. I wonder will wenger get it when he eventually steps down

Shock as English manager/journalist offers opinion before doing any research. To be fair I suppose Redknapp seems to feel that leaving a club in financial ruin is de rigueur so at least his opinions are consistent with his actions.
"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
-- William Blake
What a complete bellend whose opinion doesn't count for ****, at the end of the day he's just a cockney wheeler dealer

We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.
**** it H&G have been the best thing to happen to Redknapp in his whole career. If it hadn't have been for them our squad would not be **** and we would have walked 4th place.
£40m a year going into our squad rather than the banks would have made a hiuge difference.
When they **** off. Hopefully normal business will resume at Anfield.
I think Harry is worried that once our current owners are gone he will have another team to compete against.
But not knowing the details of the situation properly he should keep his mouth shut. I hate it when other managers discuss other clubs problems without knowing the details.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

What an Uneducated Moron. I dont think i heard one voice supporting H&G yesterday. Apart from the guy who said in there first season things were going well. Which i had to agree with. But since then it went tits up, time and time and time and time again.
Harry Redknapp..........please stay out of Liverpool's business.
