i agree with this - they trialled it iirc with aresnal about 10 years or so ago and i think was tony adams calls the referee a cheating cunt - so they stopped....

but this is utterly ridiculous....The FA, FIFA, UEFA = they all want to cut out foul moutherd rants at the referee, players swearing and acting like yobs...they all want the referees to be given more respect.

Isn't it against the laws to swear at a referee etc...

Well - give him a mic/speaker - it'd ****ing stop.....the first player to run up to referee and scream "You cheating blind cunt **** off" - gets sent off....thats supposed to be the rule anyway??? - Everyone hears it, everyone sees it...noone can argue...off he goes... it might take a few times...but eventually the swearing would stop. The half a dozen players running and screaming would in the refs face would stop....I believe football would be a better game for it.....and whats to lose...**** all...try it properly for a season...see what happens.....if it doesn't work scrap it.

Then also - decisions like this one...would be dealt with much better.....for a start - no players would be running screaming in his face.....because they know they will be sent off as it's audible to everyone

Secondly - he speaks to linesman...the linesman says..."nani handballed it" ref says "ok...i didn't see it so i'm not giving the handball...i say play on and goal stands" lino says "ok..." - goal gets given, we all hear the decision- yes there will be boos - but it's dealt with....now just ****ing get on with it.

It happens in rugby, cricket, tennis, etc etc - plenty of sports - decisions are made, rightly or wrongly - it upsets one half and pleases the other - but the ref is clear on his decision and why it was made, and u just have to deal with it.

The threat of not talking to the media is incredibly childish.

To be honest the whole way the FA deals with manager comments is a farce and they should make some sensible rules and attempt to apply them consistently. All they ever do now is hold a hearing and then suspend any punishment on the basis of 'previous good conduct' which in the case of the likes of Fergie is a joke in itself.

It was comical. The ref was that Hoorah Henry posho David Elleray. Adams, after shrieking "VAT IS OVAH VA LINE!", calls him a cheat and Elleray said "You can call me anything you like but you will not call me a cheat", OFF!

Surely that's not what was said tho? The linesman is there to assist the ref...if the ref didn't see it and the linesman did, then the linesman can advise of the foul and the infringement is given? However, if the ref says that he saw it and played on, cos the keeper was in control of the ball, then that's different?

                      Absolutely.

What is the point of having a linesman if his assessment of the situation is not honored especially as in this case, he was in much better position to see the whole thing than the ref himself.

                        The FA won't charge him.

No charge from the FA, can hardly blame them this time IMO.

Then the FA should admit that Clattenburg made a mistake, which they haven't. I agree with you on this one, but they are all a bunch of ****ing hypocrites, including Redknapp.
