Bale to Inter would be my guess.

    The price? Probably around £40m-£50m.

That's what I was going to put first time, but credit where credits due, Spurs were brilliant all over the pitch, Inter couldn't even get into the game. Bale was sensational, but others had a good games as well.

I do think Bale has now gone major league, but £40m-£50m is a bit insane. Around £25m would be my guess. Provided he keeps this up, like...but he's been playing superbly since he was moved into midfield.

He is probably the best out and out left sided winger out there. There are other better left sided attacking players but not out and out wingers.

Spurs would just laugh at a bid of £25m. If someone want to sign him then they must be prepared to pay very big money to get him.

In response to Patrick Barclay's tweet, that fella had this to say.

            Phillip Blundell
GARETH BALE IS THE GREATEST FOOTBALLER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. **** LIONEL MESSI.

I'm now trying to explain to him how small time that is - he's gonna be crowing about this literally for years - the same way we do about 5 European Cups - he'll be doing it about ONE single game

God i hope they get someone with real quality in the knockout phase - i cant stomach much more of this.
You're sounding pretty bitter about this. A team in the CL for the first time, playing well and beating the champions, of course they're going to be made up.

Gareth Bale is the best player in the world (except Xavi, of course). And really pleasant human being. Can he remain so? Messi good example

Am just saying Bale is second best in world at this moment. That's all. It keeps changing. Beauty of football.

                  Made up, yes.

"You'll never hear the end of it" is laughable and small time. What am i bitter about? Have we not beaten Inter or something? (Let alone Milan, Barca & Madrid in their own back yard) as well as actually WINNING the cup. One game won is hardly 'never hear the end of it' material.

Are we 'bitter' about Everton and their DVDs? Or is it just pathetic?

Inter have one big weakness and that is that they simply can't replace Cambiasso.

We can talk about Eto'o, Sneijder and so on but Cambiasso is the key player for Inter.

****ing spurs fans are nothing more than the London version of bitters. Let them have their 15 minutes. The only way Wobbly face will get near the european cup is when Spurs visit Anfield this season.

I know what you're saying, but I just feel that this might not be a one season blip for Spurs. First team wise they are excellent. Squad depth not so good but they've got money to improve. All depends on whether Arry can step up and manage a team aiming for the top of the division. They could (COULD) be makign a claim for a regular top 4 place.

                        Maybe.

The best thing to happen to Spurs IMO was H&G as their incompetence and destroying this club allowed spurs in. With them gone have no doubt we will get back to where we belong (As soon as Dodgson gets the boot). NESV are here to win and will do what it takes.

Spurs are good no doubt about that but as soon as we are sorted out we will be back to where we belong.

I'm surprised they have not written an article about Rafa never crying when he wins a group stage game. He is so out of touch with his feminine side.

Inter coach Rafael Benitez believes Tottenham's physical prowess was the difference between the two sides in Tuesday's Champions League encounter.

The Spaniard also lamented his players for failing to do their jobs properly as they were defeated 3-1 at White Hart Lane.

"They were physically stronger and faster than us," Benitez told Sky. "This was the difference every time we lost the ball.

"We also had to play better one-on-one football marking our opponents, but we were not able to and this is what determined the loss."

The former Liverpool boss bemoaned injuries in midfield, where Dejan Stankovic and Esteban Cambiasso were notable absentees, while former Portsmouth man Sulley Muntari played through the pain barrier.

"We knew that he [Muntari] had calf problems," said Benitez, "but he wanted to play and there weren't too many other alternatives.

"Our midfield was missing quality players in Stankovic and Cambiasso - we need to resolve this problem.

He added: "Now, it's up to us to progress to the next stage of the tournament; if we win [against Twente], we will go through, otherwise, we shall see.

"The players know they did not play a good match, so I don't have much to say to them. They will work hard to prepare themselves for the next one."
