I actually think that maybe the league isn't getting all that weaker, it's just more even, i.e. there are more decent teams now than two years ago. I don't really watch many games so I can't be sure but on paper it seems like some teams are stronger now with more individual talent.

I'm in the opposite camp tbh. Take the wolves - Utd game last week. Utd on paper really weren't that much better and that had nothing to do with Wolves being a good side.
