I have no clue about the later, just always found it a bit funny that Ronaldo is so hated considering what I wrote before. That said I also have the same tendency when watching them play, and I really have to remind myself about how Messi really seem to be as a person to balance it

That public image thing is a funny one. There is a general tendency for people to love Messi and hate Ronaldo and yet one is found guilty of tax fraud and have been identified for tax evasion in another instance (panama papers), the other the most charitable athlete but a bit to happy with himself.

Ronaldo is just a complete ****ing cunt. An absolute bellend of the highest order. Egotistical. Needs the limelight. Throws toys out of pram when not in it. So full of himself and bereft of ANY sort of human quality (humbleness'/decency). When you're that good, you become a supreme legend by being just who you are, a humble human inspiring the people (look at Bale). What Ronaldo does is not that "I'm the fockin man"
Re: Messi: When he's in the limelight and doing what he does (kick a ball), he doesn't give it the big hoo-ha. He just enjoys it, he shares that passion with his friends on the pitch, like how he celebrates when not scoring etc., totally different.

Exactly my point - people get worked up about him being a bit arrogant or annoying on the pitch and celebrate the rich guy doing tax fraud having tax evading companies etc. instead - and I know what I personally think is far worse. And the whole thing about being egoistical and self-centered he is still the most charitable person in sport - Messi not in the top-20! Nor in the top-10 of football only.

Tbh I don't believe the Ronaldo story myself, Mendes has links to the Chinese Super League so no doubt he is getting a wedge of cash to 'promote' it. Personally I reckon Ronaldo might go to America first before he coins if in China for a year or two.

Yeah, Mendes is using his client as a very useful marketing tool for his own gain. One of the biggest parasites in football, it'd be nice to be able to do away with these sorts of guys in football leeching off the talent of others for vast sums of money.
