    EXCLUSIVE

Chelsea have put down a marker in the chase for Eden Hazard after it emerged they have already tested Lille's resolve over hanging on to Europe's most wanted teenager.

Sources close to the 19-year old wing sensation claim he struck a deal with Lille president Michel Seydoux over his immediate future after Chelsea made an approach for him in the summer.

After rejecting Chelsea's bid, Seydoux promised to look favourably on any subsequent offers at the end of the season, provided Hazard stayed put and tried to help them win their first French League title in 57 years.

Hazard went along with the agreement and has become a target for leading clubs across Europe after inspiring Lille to their best season in living memory.

They had top spot to themselves in France until a 1-1 draw at Bordeaux on Saturday allowed Marseille to overhaul them on goal difference, with their 4-0 win over Montpellier.

Even then, Hazard, whose form has been closely monitored by Liverpool scouts and even manager Roy Hodgson in recent weeks, almost snatched victory with a mazy run near the end.

Zinedine Zidane has done his best to push the Belgium flyer towards Real Madrid, but there are clear signs he could just as easily end up in the Premier League, following news of Chelsea's move and his long-standing admiration for Arsenal.

'For all the interest in him, Chelsea are the only ones who have made an approach,' said a source.

'He has agreed with the president that he will not leave in the January window, but something may well happen at the end of the season.

'Of course, Real Madrid would be an attractive proposition, but Eden really likes Arsenal's style of play under Arsene Wenger.

'There is even something of Sami Nasri about him. He can play on either flank or through the middle, and he has great pace and technique. Arsenal would suit him perfectly.'

I tried the not watching, but have failed miserably. I still have to watch, having been a lifelong Liverpool supporter, I know no better.

My interest in football since he has been here is at an alltime low. It is so so ****ing depressing to know that game after game I have to see the doddering senile **** in charge. ****!

isn't everyones though i dont think there has ever been such a no sided opinion of a manager, NESV will get rid once the crowds start to drop which they will if the team dont buck their ideas up, I am frightened over who he might try and sign in Jan we need quality players and Im not sure roy would know a quality player if he came up and hit him in the face.

Think we all feel the same mate. I have tried to not watch but always do end up watching. i've been a fan all my life and i have never felt lower than now. The Souness years were a dream compared to this as at least he won us the FA cup.

Rafa gave us fans our pride back. Rafa made us the most feared team in world football. Roy on the other hand has done the opposite. The club has been run into the ground the past 20 years and the Rafa era was a small look at would could be.

                Anyway back on topic.

Roy wil never sign the likes of Hazard. He will waste it on Carlton Cole.

We could be stuck with his ****e buys for the duration of their contracts, as no other team will be falling over themselves to take them of us

Like you said the Souness reign was bad, but this is just abysmal. If people try to engage me on the topic of him as manager, they just get the "look of death". The message is loud and clear as the conversation point is soon changed

Back to the topic, there is more chance of him signing the dukes of hazard

I had the same thing the other day. Was talking to a spurs fan on monday and we were talking about the game to which i said Dodgson was a **** manager. He didn't agree so i asked if he would want him at spurs. He said no so i said what makes you think he is good enough for a club the size of Liverpool but not spurs.

Also i wish he would **** of as every thread and topic on this site is soon hijacked by the Roy is **** topic.

Not a ****ing hope of us landing a player like Hazard, dreaming!! Suppose could you blame him for wanting to join Arsenal with the football they play, we can hardly string 4 passes together before we start to panic. Being 12th in the league isn't exactly the ideal position to attract top players...........sighhhh

Every young player in France would pick Arsenal over us if they had a choice. We have some work to do to get back up to that level. Getting in the CL is the first thing we have to do. Bringing young players through is what comes next.

Hopefully in January and the summer we can sign some young lads and see them go up a few levels. With any luck they can drive us into the CL next season (probably too far gone this year) and maybe help us have a good shot at winning the Europa cup to put us back on the map in Europe.
                              Forwards.......

Would Arsenal want him? They have some quality young players out wide at the moment... When was the last time Arsene shelled out big dollars.... Arshavin and it was less than that and he has been sensational at times for them. I can't see him spending 20 mil on Hazard...
