Or he could stay at Lille, really have a great season next year and be completely out of our reach with a ridiculous price tag. Decisions decisions.... personally I would take the punt on him now, even for a fee over £25m. There are not many players of his profile available and he would fit into our team so well.

Of course, that's the flip side of it, and I'd much rather we have Hazard in our team than not.

What I'm *trying* to say is that if he decides to leave Lille this season then it'd be a lot harder to sign him without the lure of european football. He then goes to another club and we never sign him.

If next year we've qualified for the CL and decide to offer £20m then we're in much better stead to get his signature.

Real will probably sign him and loan him out to Lille. Any club that want him will probably need to loan him out to Lille the coming season.

That would be a crazy thing to do, but if we could even agree a fee and make half payment of it and then let him stay for a season at Lille to experience the champions league with them.
Then arrive the following season at Anfield.
