He wont go for £43m. Thats just a starting point for negotiations. He has already triggered the first discount by saying he wants to leave after the season. When Lille reject the first bid from a club that interests Hazard, he will likely tell them to consider it again or he will hand in a request.
IMO he will end up somewhere for 24-29m. Unless its City or PSG. He's a great young player, but world class he is not.
And if we kan sign him for, say, 25m then that would be great business IMO. If he is what we need though, I dont know - depends on a lot of things. But he's got pace and flair in abundance - makes a good start!

But then you put comments like thisOriginally posted by Arn View PostMaybe I should post in big letters so Lec will be able to read it. He is getting old so he sometimes miss important words.
"I only said what they must do if they want us to be able to compete short term in the transfer market"
So you acknowledge that what you are suggesting is preposterous yet you insist they must do it
Wouldnt it be better just not bothering posting such nonsense
Arn business wise you have absolutely zero idea
Its been a theme with many of your posts that FSG must invest ludicrous amounts of money
FFS you wanted them invest £10 million per annum in our womens team
I also find it ****ing amusing that despite NUMEROUS other people slagging you off for your idiotic posts you always bite at mine :bird:
Seriously its ****ing mental reading some of your posts, no wonder the people of world are so heavily indebted when you read posts like yoursBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I may be old Arn but its no wonder I'm ****ing confused reading your postsOriginally posted by Arn View PostIf Lecter at least one time tried to read my posts about a subject, sometimes more than one
then he would understand what I mean but as usual he don't bother to do it
As usual you are having a go at me
what a surprise
I posted that they can't spend £40m a year of their own money but Lec totally ignore that
and have a go at me.
I said that is what they must do to get us back to the top. I have also mentioned that they would get the money back through the CL money.
Reading your posts the only solution to our current situation is for FSG to do something that the rules prevent (take a £40 million plus loss per annum)
But they must do this in order for us to get back on top
FFS
Thats like advising the only way for me to become a millionaire is to rob a bank (which is illegal) but I must do it

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

The thing is now with players earning such massive wages, transfer fees are only part of the equation to consider when buying a playerOriginally posted by Mostar View PostImo about right
For instance Aguero will probably cost City twice as much in wages over the next 4 years as the fee they paid for him
It becomes a huge outlayBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Our resident Football Managers here seem to forget such trivial matters.
But he's 83/100 on FM 2012, so we must give him £262,756,989 per week!!!1111

Yes it does but those 2 things go hand in hand when you deal with quality players.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThe thing is now with players earning such massive wages, transfer fees are only part of the equation to consider when buying a player

Bar few exceptions you cannot sign a first class player and pay high transfer fee and expect to pay disproportionally less in wages.
Those players will deliver, for the most part, and will justify the financial outlay but it is true that having a club like Cityh where money doesn't seem to be an issue certainly compounds the high wages problem in general.
The way around imo is to recruit the top notch young talent early enough and even though we may still pay fair amount in transfer fees, the wage bill should not be in line as they would be still unproven at the biggest stage.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

This fact about wages is a huge factor and one often forgotten by armchair managers. The deal for Carroll/Torres was much more than just the 15m price tag difference, we probably saved about 50k per week in wages, over a 4 year contract this is quite a lot. That saving was probably given to Suarez who probably earns much more than Babbel, who he replaced.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThe thing is now with players earning such massive wages, transfer fees are only part of the equation to consider when buying a player
