Yes but Messi has around DOUBLE the amount of assists - something like 26!

40 League goals in insane, plus he got 4 assists in that 8-1 demolition of Almeria. He may not be the nicest bloke in the world but what a player!!

So 53 goals & 17 assists (i think) in all competitions,Messi & Ronaldo are just so far beyond any other players in the game today.

As a person maybe (well from what we see on tv and in media) as a player i'm not so sure it's that cut and dry, i think their completely different types of players so it's hard to compare, IMO i think Messi is a far better footballer, whereas Ronaldo is a far superior athlete.

Messi relies on skill,trickery,low centre of gravity/5 yard burst etc, Ronaldo relies on pace,power & strength. Regards of the preference between the two IMO they are out on their own in todays game, two incredible talents.

one will have the talent and ability as a footballer his entire career, the other one will lose his pace and athletisism as he gets older!!
