If they survive, I reckon he'll come good next year. We were crap in his first season with us too, then he had a mini-clearout and signed a few and we were on the road to success. Pires is doing the Jean-Michel Ferri job of letting him know who he can trust from the current squad, and what the issues are, and he'll sort them in the summer...provided they've not been relegated and he's not been sacked by then.

He should have taken a couple of years out after his heart problem. That year afterwards signing those three players, whose names I forget, in the summer ruined his reputation, which up until then had been great. 6 major trophies can't be sniffed at, even if he couldn't ultimately get us challenging for the league.

Depends how much money he gets, they have just posted losses of around 30million even before they forked our 18m on Bent and 5m on Makoun

They will probably lose Young and will look to offload Ireland, Carew, Dunne, Davies
