                        Poor old Royston.

He has proved to be a very mediocre manager.

One Roy down. One more to go.

It's still early in his career. I think it would be foolish to write him off yet. The likes of Steve Bruce took a number of jobs to become a decent manager (same could arguably be said of Rafa).

At least this Roy has time on his side unlike the other fool.

Perhaps so but for me he has shown numerous flaws, the main one being his suspect man management that has led to a massive turn over of players at both Ispwich and Sunderland during his reigns. Keane seems to buy a lot of players, then decides after six months they are not up to the task, sells them or loans them out and then asks his chairman for more money to buy a new set.
It may be that he sets his standards so high that they cannot realistically be fulfiilled by his players.
He also wasted a lot of money at Sunderland buying mediocrities like Anton Ferdinand, George McCartney and Michael Chopra so I think his judgement of a players ability is questionable at best.

His other main flaw is his temperament. Walking out on Sunderland in a huff mid season is highly unprofessional. He seems to have curbed this side of his personality somewhat at Ipswich but is still prone to the odd outburst (Last season's castigation of a local journalist whose mobile rang at a press conference being an example). I don't believe he is capable of creating and sustaining a long term project at any club.

He had one excellent season at the beginning of his Sunderland career that suggested he may become a top class manager but nothing he has done since has come close to reinforcing this.

I don't think he'll ever manage in the Premier League again. He's just not good enough in my opinion.
