He's probably the best English candidate, but that doesn't say much for the quality of English managers.
I don't care too much for the English national team, but I'd look at Wenger for the job.
He's had a pretty decent record against us in the last few seasons tbh, he's probably the best English manager at the moment. There are young managers out there who may have more talent but it's just as much about handling the big name players and pressure of being a top four team. He seems to be coping pretty well, sadly
Does nobody think they are a threat with him as their manager? I think they already are and given their previous managers him going to England could actually be a massive positive for us.
I think they clearly are a threat at the moment, but as I said, I think they would be more of a threat with a better manager.
Of course they're rivals for fourth at the moment. Whether they're more of a threat if Redknapp leaves soon depends on whether they get a better manager.
I know a few Spurs fans and inevitably they all think Benitez is crap.
What would worry me about Redknapp getting the England job is that might mean Spurs get a decent manager and could become a bigger threat...

Was thinking the same the other day, Wenger would be a brilliant choice for england. He'd be ideal to nurture through young players and the ingerlund fans would get to enjoy a lovely brand of football that they frankly dont deserve.
But he'd be a great choice IMO.
Exactly - England don't deserve him. How on earth the media and the average fan can champion for Redknapp, Hodgson (and a while back) Allardyce, yet mock Benitez and Capello etc. Even Sven did a decent job.
Wenger could finish this season with Arsenal (I think his time is nearing the end) and then go onto manage us from 2012 onwards. Ideal.

Good point actually mate. I have a horrible feeling that Rafa will end up there once Redknapp inevitably joins England. Hope I'm wrong.
