That's the risk and it would indeed be a nightmare. If he even vaguely succeeded it would be intolerable. But I think the risk is very small. Very small indeed.
He wouldn't fail so badly. Not as if he has much to live up to. Enough people would blame the players and people have short memories. It could quite easily enhance his standing in the long term when he's retired.
I must have missed the memo. Why are we in favour of voting Roy as England manager? Won't it just mean seeing him on tv a lot more, and who wants that?
