It's the psychology element to it - whilst Mourinho must know the bull**** he spouts is indeed that - it's that thing, where if you tell yourself something enough, you start to believe it. So Mourinho tells himself, ad nauseam, that he's the best manager ever, to the point where he believes it and acts like it.

Same theory with his players. Keep drumming it into them that they're the best in the world, and from a psychological/mental and confidence point of view, that's what they become. The players side of it, is quite Shankly-esque even, dare i say it.

I am guessing he is actually getting the home support ready for the turgid, boring belts and braces rigid 442 long ball football that he brings to every club he manages. It has to be said his tactic of preparing his players and supporters for the worst is both random and bizarre.

He's going to get them playing ultra defensive despite every defender theyve got being absolute ****e and their best players being attackers. He'll never, ever learn.

Apart from Wolves at home (and a Roy Hodgson team has already been outclassed by them at home so its not gimme) I cant see them winning a game.

West Brom's only hope is that, by the time his methods translate across (as they apparently do so well, from Orebro, to Malmo, to the Swiss national job, etc) they may have managed to get enough points to give them a fighting chance.

Isn't it wonderful so late in his career that he is finally been shown up for the preening chancer he always was.

They're going down like a sack of spuds. If he keeps them up - despite them never being in the bottom 3 (bar week one) I'll have to give him some credit. I will be staggered if he keeps them up. I think he'll lose his first EIGHT games

Have they brought in Kelly yet, might be able to make Scott Carson flap at more stuff and stay rigidly on his line...

Carson's been dropped for the last month or so hasn't he, it's Boaz Myhill in their goal now.

Mike fackin Kelly ...they're gonna love him.

I'll be watching West Brom more closely than I ever have, just for ****s and giggles.

Whilst i dont disagree with anything being said, that tells of how **** Hodgson is, for the sake of balance - how do we explain the incredible recovery he put together when he first went to fulham, and they had looked like they were beyond recovery?

Well they lost something like their first 9 matches under him ...including being knocked out of the FA Cup by Bristol Rovers ....so he got them in the **** in the first place. I think they won 4 of their last 5 games to stay up, which is truly incredible by Hodgson's standards.

They can obviously forget getting any points away from home so that leaves Wolves, Arsenal, Us, Chelsea, Villa and Everton at the Hawthorns.

They're ****ed and I suspect he wont be to willing to have his name attached to it at the end of the season like he was at Fulham where despite popular opinion it was his horrendous form aswell as Lawrie Sanchez' that had them down there.

According to Wiki Fulham only picked up nine points from his first thirteen league games, so while the last ditch escape was still impressive, it was from a hole fiwmly of Roy's making. He had half a season to turn around a team that was under performing under Sanchez and barely managed it.

When they go down it won't be Roy's fault though. Oh no, that will be down to Di Matteo.
