He's ten times the full back that Walker guy is, poor man's Glen Johnson that lad. **** goal today that was all down to the Arsenal keeper & a liability at the back.

Kelly will become one of our best right backs over the next decade, I'm sure of that. If he had cost us 20mill he would be playing instead of Johnson. Not a huge fan of Johnson since he's usually all over the place when it comes to defense. Kelly is heads and shoulders above him and can even attack pretty well. Very good crosser too. I find Johnson to be slightly overrated. Too often players are having to backtrack or mop up after him since he's not in position.

I quite agree that I think he'll go on to be a great player if he can keep his head straight and continue to work on certain areas of his game.

However I'm the opposite with you on Johnson. Personally I think he's underrated - it's common to say that he's weak defensively and only good going forward etc but I think that's a bit of a myth. He's still better than Kelly IMO but that's fine by me because we're lucky to have two very good right backs.

I hope they can stay injury-free for a good while now. If they can then we've got that position covered and some healthy competition between them both.

Think Glenjo's been decent in his last two starts. Looked a threat going forward and solid at the back.

I don't think there's much between Johnson and Kelly at the moment. I don't mind which one plays. Kelly is obviously the future though.

Based on the one performance for the U21's and the numerous games he has played at centre back, I have to agree with you
