I think Kelly has a better understanding defensively than Johnson. Both are good players and will be interesting to see that battle for RB.

I think he's a better defender now than GJis, maybe not the complete player that GJ is in footballing ability. There's something about Johnson at RB that he switches off, maybe its that he's too comfortable there.

He was much better at LB and I'd reason that was because he was out of his comfort zone and had to concentrate on what he was doing.

With Kelly's and Flanagan's emergence there is a contest there for RB that should get GJ's focus and improve him.

I think it would be an excellent experiment to play him on the right wing in the Carling cup.
