And that's the problrm. We need players who can stay fit, and Kelly can't. I feel sorry for the lad but he is not our future.
I think it depends on how we manage his injuries and training, we've had other players who have had injury problems that the club have been able to manage fairly well (e.g. Agger and Gerrard), I don't see why we can't do something similar with Kelly if we think he has a future with us.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Really depends on how he progresses. He seems to have a good calm head on his shoulders, big in stature but not slow or clumsy. He has all the attributes to be a top defender, just needs to improve his aerial game & get over his injury problems.
Personally myself i'd like to see him eventually drafted in at CB but at the moment cover for Johnson is good enough.
