Sunderland agree fee for Stoke City striker Fuller
Stoke City have accepted a bid of £3m from Sunderland for striker Ricardo Fuller, reports BBC Radio Stoke.
The 31-year-old Jamaica international has scored 48 goals in 177 appearances since joining the Potters from Southampton in the summer of 2006.
Sunderland are looking for a striker to replace Darren Bent, who moved to Aston Villa for an initial £18m on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Carlo Nash, 37, has signed a one-year contract extension at the Britannia Stadium.
Fuller, who has been Stoke's leading goalscorer in each of the last three seasons, has found the net three in 23 games so far this campaign.
It is understood that the former Preston and Crystal Palace man would not pass a medical on Wearside, but Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is prepared to make a concession.
Fuller has a longstanding knee injury, as well as a problem left shoulder, which he dislocated in a 2-0 defeat at the Stadium of Light in February 2009.RIP IRWT

For that money he is a decent enough option for a team like Sunderland. I'd also guess he is the sort of player you could easily find a partner for and with £15m to do it that shouldn't be too hard. I'd consider him more as coming in to fill in for Welbeck rather than replace Bent.Originally posted by red g View Posthave actually always quite liked fuller as a player. runs for cover

yep and think Bruce has said dimilar, will wait to the summer for his marquee sighning. Big pressure on Gyan though, Bruce normally likes his foreigners to be eased in gently. Will be very interesting.Originally posted by dww View PostFor that money he is a decent enough option for a team like Sunderland. Seems a fair description. Although, since he has been at Stoke at least. he has learnt to work hard when he isn't playing well.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostFuller is a funny one, capable of scoring the most outrageous, world class goals, but often looks like a lumbering oaf."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
